I know the anniversary of September 11 is always a hard day for America and much of the world.  I know it is much more difficult for the people who have lost a loved one and some will never see this day without a tear in their eye.  It is a fragile line to walk to say that there is good that came from such an evil act but we all witnessed the courage of the brave men and women who gave of themselves, body and heart.   The out pouring of gifts and donations to help people more hurt than ourselves was truly amazing.  The story that keeps coming back to my memory even between the anniversaries of Sept. 11, is about the Maasai people in Kenya andmasai-nr-lekerruki2.jpg Tanzania.  These people are literally “dirt poor” and they gave their most prized and treasured gift, a gift that sustains their very lives.  They gave fourteen cattle, now at first thought that doesn’t seem like a big thing to you or I, but to the Maasai people cattle are everything.  They themselves do not live on the beef of these cows, except for an occasional ceremony, they live on the blood mixed with milk taken from these cattle.  To the Maasia, Cattle represent not only wealth but are spiritually respected as well.  The Maasai elders deemed the fourteen cattle and their offspring to be sacred and will never be eaten or given away.  They now graze on a farm near the village of Enoosaen as a permanent tribute to the people who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

This story always reminds me of what Jesus said about the poor widow in Luke Chap 21 Verse 1 thru 4:  “And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.  And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.  And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:  For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.”

May God Bless the families of the victims of September 11, 2001

stainglass.jpgJust a thought I’m having.  Thinking back a long time ago, when I was a teen, I remember seeing Billy Graham on Television (I didn’t have a good opinion about televangelist or even religion at the time) but what He said made me think.  He said (something like this, I don’t recall his words exactly), either Jesus was and is who we believe Him to be, the Son of the Living God or He pulled the biggest prank in the history of the world.  That made me stop and think about how He, Jesus fulfilled  all the prophecies He fulfilled, like the prophecy of His actual birth.  We as a people record Time by His very existence.  If He did pull a prank like that, then we should worship Him just for pulling off such a prank! IMHO

Jesus Is Lord

The Idiot Box seems to be reporting some News today, instead of looping the same story over and over.  In fact Sherriff Joe Arpaio was just on defending his “Report an illegal alien Hot Line”.  It seems He is one of the very few in power who actually do their Job.

sharon-tate.jpgThese days when you talk about a sick cult leader, your mind, at least my mind automatically goes to President AhmaGenocide (Ahmadinejad) with his sick under developed brain and the Jihad movement that follow him.  He is not the demon I am talking about, the sicko I’m talking about had his so called family kill the beautiful young lady to the left.  Sharon Tate on this day August 9, 1969.

Sharon Marie Tate was born January 24, 1943.  She was a rising American actress and model, she played small roles on  television in the 1960’s, before starting her film career.  Sharon’s celebrity increased when she married film director Roman Polaski.  May Sharon rest in peace and God bring comfort to her family.  Although there are literally thousands of photos of Sharon, this one caught my eye as being very dreamy.

About the sick cult leader, his name is Charles Manson, and as Forest Gump would say, that’s all I have to say about that.

jesseowens.jpgSpeaking of sick cult leaders, no conversation or article would be complete on this subject without mentioning Adolph Hitler, who ironically was hosting the Olympics in Berlin on this day August 9, 1936 when  Jesse Owens won his fourth gold medal.

Jesse Owens, the son of a black sharecropper from Alabama stole the show when he won his fourth gold medal in the 4×100 meter relay, after winning gold medals in his three individual events.  The fact that three other black Americans also won did little to please Hitler, but the applause from the German crowds for Owens was thunderous.  In 1935 at the Big Track and Field Championships, Owens equaled or set world records in four events, the 100 and 220-yard dashes, 200-yard low hurdles and the long jump. He was also credited with world marks in the 200-meter hurdles and 200-meter run.  Six world records in one afternoon, and he did it all in 45 minutes!  In 1976, Jesse was awarded the highest honor a civilian of the United States can receive. President Gerald R. Ford awarded him with the Medal of Freedom.   Several years later at the age of 66, Jesse Owens died on March 31, 1980.  Jesse Owens Official website.

ford.jpgGerald Rudolph Ford on this day August 9, 1974 in the East Room of the White House was sworn in as the 38th President of the United States of America by  Vice President Nelson A. Rockefeller who was nominated August 20, 1974.   Throughout Ford’s political career he was fond of saying that he had “many adversaries, but not one enemy” on Capital Hill.  Gerald Ford was born on July 14, 1913 in Omaha, Nebraska and died just last December 26, 2006, in Rancho Mirage Ca.  The Bible that was used at Fords Inauguration was held by his wife Betty and it was opened to Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  President Ford.
