ingrid.jpgIngrid Bergman was born on this day August 29, 1915 and also died on this same day in 1982.  She was a three time Academy Award winning and two time Emmy Award winning actress.  She also won the very first Tony Award ever awarded in 1947 and is ranked as the fourth greatest female star of all time by the American Film Institute.  Her mother died when she was only two and her father died when she was twelve.  She started acting at 17 in Sweden and after a dozen or so movies she became “Sweden’s illustrious gift to Hollywood.”  Ingrid has truly done it all, from Audio recording, Audio books, Radio, Theater, Video, Television and Movies.  She has also lived and  worked in many Countries including Sweden, America and Italy.  The Awards she has received are far to many for me to even begin to list.  Her achievements are dizzying.  She is one of the all time greats.  Just the trivia section alone on her goes on forever, starting with one of many roses being named after her.  The thing I think everyone knows her by and will always remember her by is the movie Casablanca in 1942 with Humphrey Bogart.  So just remember, as she once said “Happiness is good health and a bad memory.”
