It was a very sad day back on August 19, 1981 for young boys and even grown men, maybe especially for grown men. The Television series Charlie’s Angels aired it’s final episode, after running for five years. Back in 1981 there wasn’t a whole lot of computer traffic on the internet or even the very liberal television of today, we had the Angels, Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith, and Farrah Fawcett and later Cheryl Ladd, Shelley Hack, and Tanya Roberts. When Charlie said through that intercom “Good Morning Angels” and the three girls answered back in unison, the show was on. I don’t think there was one teen boy who didn’t have or at least knew someone who had that Farrah Fawcett poster hung on their wall. Oh, I know it’s not much in today’s world but back then, nothing so big and beautiful was ever printed on paper, and it was in the stores, on display! Damn, times were changing. You know the rest of the story, in 2000, Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu made a movie version of the show. They even did a Charlie’s Angels 2 called Full Throttle in 2003 which I still haven’t seen. I thought the first movie was pretty good but to tell the truth, it wasn’t as good as the first time.
Cheryl Ladd was my Favorite!
