marciano-vs-jersey-joe-walcott.jpgThe Greatest Heavyweight champion of all time was born Rocco Francis Marchegiano on September 1, 1923 in Brockton, Massachusetts.  He was born into an Italian American family, his father Pierino and mother Pasqualena had 5 other children beside Rocco, the two other boys Louis and Peter and three girls Alice, Concetta, and Elizabeth.  Rocky was a fighter from the age of one, when he over came a bout with pneumonia that almost took his life.  Growing up he played all the sports in school, football, baseball, basketball and he even worked out with homemade weightlifting equipment, including a heavy bag made from a postal sack.  He dropped out of school after the tenth grade to go to work doing everything from shoe salesman to ditch digger to working at the Brockton Ice and Coal Company.  He was drafted into the army from 1943 to 1946 and  he helped ferry supplies across the English Channel to Normandy while stationed in Wales Read the rest of this entry »

This has got to be the funniest movie Ihave ever seen, “Friday.”  Since it is Friday and Chris Tucker happend to be born on this day August 31, 1972, I thought this 12 second video fit perfect.  Thanks to MzLaidBack for the video.

Last night on Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld, Courtney Friel sang “Baby Goy Back” by Sir Mix -A -Lot and “told” Mr RedEyeRecap person that she better not see it on the net.  Well, Mr Recap answered with a very fitting response.   Damn, if only I knew her and was younger and better looking and ect ect…

I was reminded of this song in one of my all time favorite movies “Cool Hand Luke” when I saw an even more interesting video at NickyRivers, while I was putting together the “Stevie Ray Vaughan” post.  Luke just found out his mother died, and he is strumming  his own sort of prayer to her memory.  Thanks to Miksterious for the video. This post is dedicated to Greg Gutfeld, since he just said he hates banjos.  You may have to turn up the sound.  Here are the lyrics.

Well, I don’t care if it rains or freezes,
long as I got my plastic Jesus,
sittin’ on the dashboard of my car.
Comes in colors, pink and pleasant,
glows in the dark cause it’s irridescent
Take it with you when you travel far.
Get yourself a sweet Madonna,
dressed in rhinestones sittin’ on a
pedestal of abalone shell
Goin’ ninety, I ain’t scary,
’cause I’ve got the Virgin Mary,
assurin’ me that I won’t go to Hell.
Get yourself a sweet Madonna,
dressed in rhinestones sittin’ on a
pedestal of abalone shell
Goin’ ninety, I ain’t scary,
’cause I’ve got the Virgin Mary,
assurin’ me that I won’t go to Hell
